# Echo Show 15 Microphone and Camera Access

We are working to deploy a communications app on the Amazon Echo Show 15 as a Fire TV app.

During development and testing we have confirmed that:

- Our app successfully accesses the camera via getUserMedia (WebRTC) ✓
- All WebRTC APIs are present and functional in the Fire OS 7 WebView ✓
- The device’s camera and microphone hardware are detected via enumerateDevices ✓
- However, RECORD\_AUDIO permission is silently denied by Fire OS without displaying a permission dialog to the user ✗

The microphone is essential for our application as without it, using the camera fails too.

Has anyone successfully connected their app to both the camera and microphone on the echo show 15?

Our internal team has notified that generally and per our policies, Amazon does not provide third party apps access to certain system level permissions on our Fire tablets and Fire TV devices within OS/devices.  
However, we will pass your message/proposal to the appropriate internal team for review and they will reach out if the request is able to meet a policy exception under our accessibility commitments.
