Same issue: Registration stuck with CORS error on devportal-eu

Same issue as reported here: “Unable to complete Amazon Developer
registration” — same root cause (CORS error on devportal-eu.amazon.com/registration/agreement/api.html), same
“Something went wrong” error when submitting the registration form.

In that thread, Amazon staff resolved it by manually removing the
stuck incomplete registration state.

Could you please do the same for my two accounts?

Hello,

We’ve removed the incomplete registration that was stuck. Could you please try registering again?

Hi Emma,

Thanks for removing the stuck registration. Unfortunately, I tried
again right after (both with the Chinese company name and the
English/pinyin version) and got the exact same “Something went
wrong” error both times.

It seems the fix may not have fully applied, or the issue
re-occurs immediately after a fresh registration attempt. Could you
please take another look?

This is quite urgent for us — if it would help speed things up,

Thanks for your continued help!

Hi,

Thank you for your patience with this issue. It appears the address you entered in Address Line 2 exceeds the 60 character limit (30 Chinese characters). Could you try entering a shorter address?

Hi Emma,

Update: After shortening Address Line 2 to under 60 characters as
you suggested, I got a different result — the registration page now
shows “404 Page not found”, and when I check the account menu, it
now shows my account status as “账户已禁用” (Account Disabled) instead
of completing registration.

This seems to be a new/different issue from the earlier CORS error.
Could you please check the current status of this account?

Legal name: **

This is quite urgent for us. Appreciate your help getting this
resolved.

Thanks!

Hi @Min_Yang ,

Please try logging in to the account again and let us know if the issue persists.

Hello,

Thank you for your help with my previous inquiries — I really appreciate the support.

I’m writing now because I’m encountering a new issue completing identity verification for my developer account. After multiple attempts, the system shows “We couldn’t verify your ID,” and the verification keeps failing.

Details of the situation:

  • My identification document is a Chinese national ID card, with the name printed in Chinese characters
  • However, the “Settings → Company Profile” section of my developer account requires a legal name in English, which is currently filled in as Min Yang
  • Since the ID card name is in Chinese, I suspect the mismatch between the Chinese name on the document and the English name on the account may be causing the verification to fail

A few questions I’d like to ask:

  1. For users whose ID documents are in Chinese, how exactly does the name-matching process work? Is there support for matching pinyin/English names to the Chinese name on the document?
  2. Besides the automated online verification, is there an alternative way to complete identity verification (e.g., manual review, submitting ID documents via email)?
  3. If the “Company Profile” name needs to be adjusted to match the ID document, what format should be used (e.g., full pinyin, surname-first order, etc.)?

I’d appreciate your help looking into this. Thank you!

Best regards,

Min Yang

Hi @Min_Yang ,

Please enter your legal name in Chinese characters, as it needs to be an exact match to the name on your ID. If you see a special character warning while entering the Chinese characters, you can ignore it and save your changes.
