Active SDK Version: 0.24.12112
Vega CLI Version: 1.2.18

Hi, currently, my Vega (Fire TV Stick 4K Select) is running OS 1.1 (1401010446050).

I am unable to update it to OS 1.2, which is the exact same issue described in this Q&A post: [OS 1.2 OTA update - #5 by Tom\_Van\_Laerhoven](https://community.amazondeveloper.com/t/os-1-2-ota-update/29152/5)
I followed the reply, but still not able to update the OS version.

When I click the “Check for Updates” button on the screen, it always displays “Your Fire TV is up to date” after checking.

I tried running the force update command, but I received the following error:

_vega exec vda shell ace mw ota forceUpdate_

`> Error: -38`
`Ret: -5 Duration : 2 ms`

I also performed a factory reset, but it did not help.

Below are the details of my device OS info:

_vega exec vda shell cat /etc/os-release_

`OE_VERSION="4.0.0"`

Hi @Bo_Accedo,

Thanks for the detailed write-up and for including your os-release output and the forceUpdate result - that’s exactly what we need.

A couple of things stand out. In the earlier thread, forceUpdate returned Ret: 0, whereas in your case the command is returning an error (Error: -38 / Ret: -5), which is what we’re looking into.

Since you’ve already worked through the standard steps - “Check for Updates,” a forced update, and a factory reset - this looks like it needs an investigation on our end.

Our team is investigating this issue and will provide an update as soon as we have more information.

Thanks for helping us improve the Vega platform.

Warm regards,
Aishwarya
