Setting up a billing plan (SPID) when I don't see Developer Portal Billing section

A support engineer told me that I need to "configure a billing plan (SPID) by registering a subscription product in the Dev Portal. Since I manage my own billing the variable “isRing3PBillingOwner=false”, but an SPID still needs to be present for the flow to work. The support engineer said “Check if a billing plan needs to be setup in the Developer Portal Billing section.” But I don’t see a Billing section in the Developer Portal. What am I missing?

You’re correct that there is no visible “Billing” section in the Developer Portal — the SPID (Subscription Product ID) configuration is not something that can be set up through the portal UI directly. Apologies for any confusion the earlier guidance caused.

The SPID is an internal identifier that needs to be provisioned on Ring’s backend. Even when isRing3PBillingOwner=false (partner-managed billing), a SPID still needs to exist in our system for the subscription flow to work correctly — this is a backend setup step that our team handles, not something you configure yourself in the portal.

If you’re hitting this, please reach out to developer support directly with your app’s Client ID so the team can verify and provision the SPID for your app.

Hope that clears things up for anyone else running into the same issue!
