Splash Screen is not working in debug builds

:backhand_index_pointing_right: Bug Description

1. Summary

We noticed that the native splash screen is not working as expected in debug mode. The splash screen disappears too quickly and a black screen appears until the next page loads. This problem has been ongoing for a while. It is working fine in the release build types, but we as developers, QA and business use debug builds for most of the testing and showcases. We have opened a thread in the shared slack space with amazon too, raising a forum post for awareness too.
