Mp3 doesn't start playing until is fully downloaded

1. Summary

We have some very large mp3 files of >3MB and >60mins long, and they don’t start playing until the whole mp3 is fully downloaded, and this can take 15s-20s.

2. Steps to Reproduce

  • Play a large mp3 content (3MB-4MB / ~60mins long) using Kepler’s native AudioPlayer component (we can provide the large mp3 if required)
  • Playback starts after 15s-20s.

3. Observed Behavior

It takes 15s-20s to start playing - more or less the same time it takes to download the full mp3.

We see a big gap (~15s) between the first durationchange event and the loadstart event.

4. Expected Behavior

Playback starts almost immediately while the mp3 is being downloaded.

4.a Possible Root Cause & Temporary Workaround

Looks like the mp3 doesn’t start playing until it’s fully downloaded.

5. Logs or crash report

We can provide if needed, but this is also reproducible in the Kepler Video sample app.
