"Recommended by your apps" row on Fire TV never shows up

Hello Amazon team, this issue is very similar to the one from someone else here.

On MUBI, we have developed Recommendation channel integration already some time ago. I got a ticket to make some improvements on it, but the problem is that we never manage to see that row anymore, like if it was simply disabled forever.

I am testing it on Fire TV 7, and I have followed all the main steps: enabled it via developer tools (rebooting the stick, waiting 5 min, etc) then I tried to stream from different apps, didn’t set any parental control, and also tried to watch more than 5 pieces of content from our own app (MUBI). It doesn’t matter how much content you watch, or from which app, the row is never there. Is this feature disabled or is there any extra step that we should follow and it’s not documented?

I can provide you with the link to the sample app I mentioned (if helpful) AmazonSample.zip - Google Drive.

Appreciate any help,
Gabriel, from MUBI Android Development team.

Hi Gabriel,

Welcome to the forums, and thanks for posting! I can confirm that the Recommendations row is valid, and not disabled.

I would suggest going through the docs [1], and double checking your implementation, it’s possible something was missed. Has that row ever worked for your app before? The thing about that row is, it’s dynamic, and if it does not make it to top 50 rows based on user’s engagement history with it, the user won’t see it.
