Can’t we test Vega apps on Appstore Quality Center?

Hi,

The Appstore Quality Center seems to support testing only for Fire OS (APK). Is there currently no support for Vega OS (VPKG)?

Also, Fire TV Stick Select (running Vega OS) is not available in Live Device Interaction. Adding it would really help us test apps before production.

Thank you for the feedback. You’re correct on both points.

Appstore Quality Central - Vega OS (VPKG) support: Currently, Appstore Quality Central’s automated testing and Live Device Interaction support Fire OS (APK) only. The documentation confirms that available devices include “Fire TVs and Fire tablets with OS versions ranging from Fire OS 5 to Fire OS 8” and Fire OS 14. There is no VPKG/Vega OS support at this time.

Live Device Interaction - Fire TV Stick 4K Select: The Fire TV Stick 4K Select (running Vega OS) is not currently available in the Live Device Interaction. LDI currently supports Fire OS-based devices only, including the recently added Fire OS 14 TV devices.

Current options for testing Vega apps:

  1. Vega Virtual Device (VVD) - included with the Vega SDK for local development and testing
  2. Physical Fire TV Stick 4K Select - required for production-ready testing and WebView apps
  3. Live App Testing (LAT) - supported for Vega apps for closed beta testing with real users

We have noted your feedback regarding adding Vega OS device support to Appstore Quality Central and Live Device Interaction. This is valuable input and we will pass it along to the relevant team.
