Hello Amazon Music Developer team,
I’m building a small dashboard for my own home that runs on a Raspberry Pi and acts as a single control screen for the house. This is a personal hobby project for my own household — not a business, not a commercial product, and not something I plan to distribute or sell.
I’d like the dashboard to show what’s currently playing and provide simple transport controls (play/pause, skip, volume), and then cast that audio to speakers around my home over my local network — including Google Home speakers. I want to do all of this through the dashboard screen rather than by voice.
I understand from your documentation that the Amazon Music Web API and Device API are currently in closed beta, and that access generally goes through an Amazon Business Development representative. With that in mind, I’d appreciate your guidance on:
- Is there any path for a personal, non-commercial user to access an API or plugin for this kind of private home integration?
- I’m using a standard (non-premium / Prime-tier) account. Which capabilities, if any, are available at that account level for “now playing” information and basic playback control?
- If individual access isn’t available, can you point me to the right contact or process so I at least understand the options?
I’d genuinely like to build this the right way and within your rules, so any direction — even if it’s “this isn’t currently possible for personal use” — would be very helpful. Thank you for your time.
