Hi, I am an Android developer that decided to purchase the Amazon Kid 8 fire table (2024 edition) for my child.
After enabling developer mode and WIFI debugging, I was unable to connect to the device - I thought at first that I did something wrong even though I am very experienced with this process.
After every single permutation of settings I could not get it connected.
I decided to enable USB debugging and noticed that I was able to enabled wireless debugging using the adb tcpip 5555 command.
This doesn’t solve my problem but does prove that the toggle option in the developer options to enable WIFI debugging is NOT WORKING!
The amazon team really needs to work on these really novice bugs through quality testing. Furthermore, how many pro users who bought the tablet cannot do what they want to do.
I am hoping this can be addressed expeditiously since this is unfair to users like us.
I hope this reaches someone who can fix this soon, I need adb wifi automatically enabled even on reboots for my kids devices.
