AutoLaunch apps

Is there a way to automatically launch an app when starting the Fire Stick or when it resets?

Is it something I can “program” in my application?

In Vega OS.

Hey, I haven’t personally implemented auto-launch on Vega OS myself, but from what I understand this kind of behavior on Fire devices is typically controlled at the OS/launcher level rather than something a third-party app can program directly — meaning Amazon would need to grant that permission or provide a specific API for it.

It might be worth checking the Vega API documentation directly at developer.amazon.com to see if there’s an auto-launch or boot receiver equivalent for Vega OS. Also worth searching this forum for “boot” or “launcher” — I’ve seen similar questions come up for Fire TV development in general.

Hopefully someone with direct Vega experience can confirm either way!

Hi @Yorki_Bonilla ,

Thank you for your question.

Auto-launching of apps on Fire TV devices is not supported and falls outside the scope of what is permitted under Amazon Appstore policies.

There is NO Support, and there won’t be any support for auto-launching apps on Vega devices..

That’s a shame.

Is there any documentation or a link to that Amazon Appstore policy you are mentioning?

Hey @Yorki_Bonilla,

You can visit Amazon Developer Portal for all the related documentation.
Policy related details can be found here.
You can also use our DevAssistant chat bot on developer portal for assistance.

Thanks,
