Is anyone else seeing a "How would you like to confirm?" popup blocking In-App Purchases?

Since March 4th, my sales across 4 different apps (AppSynergy Creations) have dropped from 100+ units a day to zero.

When testing on a physical tablet, I discovered that every time a user tries to buy, they are hit with a “How would you like to confirm? [Use My Phone] or [Enter Account Password]” popup. (See attached screenshot).

This extra security step is appearing before every purchase, which is causing 100% of my users to abandon their carts. Other apps on the Appstore do not seem to have this extra friction.

Has anyone else noticed a sudden drop in conversions or seen this specific “Step-Up” verification popup on their apps recently? > I am trying to figure out if this is a new Amazon security update affecting many developers or if my account has been specifically flagged. Any feedback or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Does this affect only in-app purchases, or does the popup also appear when the user wants to purchase a paid app or game from the Amazon Appstore?

It is affecting the initial purchase of the app itself. These are paid apps, and the verification popup appears the moment a user clicks the ‘Buy’ button on the store page.

Because this is happening on the storefront before the app is even downloaded, it appears to be an account-level security flag rather than an in-app technical bug. This is why my sales for all 4 apps dropped to zero simultaneously on March 4th.

@Super_Mario I believe this is the issue both you and I are facing as well. I don’t have a Fire Tablet to test on, but after testing on Fire TV, I didn’t encounter this issue.
