I have more than 40 apps (free and paid) published to Amazon Appstore and all of them are affected. The drop is significant (4x-5x) and exactly since September 1st, 2024. How is it possible such huge plummet to happen in one day?
I investigated the issue at my side and with several friends of mine who are publishers of Android apps on Amazon Appstore and nothing similar happened to them.

We have analyzed the complete sales report for this vendor. We did not find any significant drop in sales count compared month by month.

I can confirm that daily sales have dropped significantly since August, and the situation has worsened in September and October.
Yes, it got worse sadly.
We’re not sure how to address this significant drop in installs and sales. We sincerely hope that Amazon will investigate this issue, as it has greatly impacted our revenue.
Mates, sorry for the late response. I’m pretty busy these days and because of this I will write a few short sentences about the problem. The main reason for the issue is that Amazon Appstore is flooded with scam copycat apps and accounts behind them. They are hundreds and even thousands. They deceive users to install them but in fact these apps do not provide promised/advertised functionality. The apps show some kind of short animations or mock UI and after a few seconds IAP dialog is shown or redirect to some paid app in Amazon Appstore. These apps effectively suffocate search results presence of the genuine apps and erode the trust of users. If you install 10-15 apps and all of them are scam you do not risk to install the next app. Just try to search some of the keywords of your app’s title/description and you will see in the search results hundreds of scam apps. Many of them even copy icons and screens.
I’ve reported thousands of these apps to Amazon Appstore Support Team and they removed them but every single day hundreds of these app are re-uploaded again.
We are seeing a 60% drop in installs compared to the previous week over the last three days on one app, but not the others. I wondered if there was a technical reason, but i will look into this copy cat app phenomenon. Previously we had one app copy all of our screenshots and it was impossible to get amazon to remove it.
