Issues migrating from Amazon Fling to Matter Casting

We’re working on migrating from Amazon Fling to Matter Casting following the announcement that Amazon Fling will be discontinued on March 5, 2026, and that Matter Casting is the recommended replacement.

While integrating Matter Casting into our app, we’ve run into a few issues and would really appreciate some guidance:

  1. Availability on Fire OS 7+ devices
    We have many devices running Fire OS 7 or higher, but Matter Casting does not appear to be available on them.

    • Is there a rollout schedule or specific requirement for Matter Casting to be available on all Fire OS 7+ devices?

    • When can we expect Matter Casting support to be fully available on these devices?

  2. iOS casting error (Code=50 / Timeout)
    When trying to connect to a Fire TV from our iOS app, casting fails with the following error:

    Casting Connection Failed
    
    Connection to Casting Player failed with
    "Error Domain=com.matter.casting Code=50 "(null)"

    • What does Code=50 / CHIP Error 0x00000032: Timeout typically indicate in this context?

    • Are there known causes or recommended troubleshooting steps for this error?

  3. CustomerID allowlist
    It seems we may need to have our CustomerID added to an allowlist for Matter Casting to work correctly.

    • Is this correct?

    • If so, what is the process to get our CustomerID added?

Matter Casting is supported on Fire OS 7+ Fire TV devices. Please check for the Matter Casting option under Settings > Display & Sounds > Matter Casting.

Could you also provide the Fire TV logs related to the error?
