I’m currently using the Amazon Fling SDK to send photos and videos from an iPhone to Fire TV, and I’m looking to migrate to Matter Casting. I have a few questions regarding the integration process.
Q1: The Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick have a built-in receiver application that supports Amazon Fling service. Is there a similar built-in receiver application for Matter Casting? Or is a companion app required on the device?
Q2: I ran the example Matter Casting iOS app on my iPhone, and it detects my Fire TV Stick 4K Max. When I select the device, the Fire TV prompts:
Enter PIN code as shown on Test TV casting app
I enter 20202021, then:
- Fire TV shows Casting Connection Failed
- iOS app reports:
Connection to Casting Player failed with "Error Domain=com.matter.casting Code=50 "(null)" UserInfo={NSUnderlyingError=examples/tv-casting-app/tv-casting-common/support/ChipDeviceEventHandler.cpp:119: CHIP Error 0x00000032: Timeout"
What am I doing wrong, and how can I successfully establish a Matter Casting connection between the iPhone and Fire TV?
Q3: It looks like adding support for Matter Casting is nearly impossible for a regular developer, since it requires going through the certification process. Or am I misunderstanding, and this process is actually straightforward?
