We are currently experiencing an issue when attempting to initiate a casting session from our iOS application to a Fire TV device using Matter Casting.
When trying to connect, the casting flow fails with the following error:
Casting Connection Failed
Connection to Casting Player failed with
Error Domain=com.matter.casting Code=50 “(null)”
UserInfo={
NSUnderlyingError=examples/tv-casting-app/tv-casting-common/support/ChipDeviceEventHandler.cpp:119:
CHIP Error 0x00000032: Timeout
}
Based on similar cases, we understand that this may require allowlisting of our Customer ID on your side.
Could you please allowlist our Customer ID for Matter Casting?
We are also encountering another issue related to Matter Casting availability on certain Fire TV devices.
According to previous guidance, Matter Casting is supported on Fire OS 7+ Fire TV devices, and the setting should be available under:
Settings > Display & Sounds > Matter Casting
However, on some devices we do not see the Matter Casting option in the settings menu at all.
Specifically, we are observing this behavior on:
-
Amazon Fire TV Stick (3rd generation)
-
Fire OS version: 7.7.1.1
Despite running Fire OS 7+, the Matter Casting menu entry is not present under Display & Sounds.
Could you please clarify:
-
Whether Matter Casting is fully supported on this specific device model and OS version?
-
If there are any regional, account-level, or feature flag restrictions that might hide the Matter Casting option?
