Assistance Required for Account Access Due to Misplaced Linked Phone Number

I created an Amazon Developer account some time ago and have successfully published games using it. However, the phone number linked to my account has been misplaced and I no longer have access to it.

Now, whenever I try to log in, the OTP is sent to that misplaced phone number. I tried the alternative verification method by submitting my government-issued ID card along with a selfie, but after submission, I receive a message instructing me to contact the support team.

Unfortunately, I am unable to open a support case because I cannot log in to my account without access to the linked phone number.

Could you please guide me on how to regain access to my account in this situation? Your assistance will be highly appreciated.

  1. Select “Manage logins, addresses, or your data”

  2. Choose “Check login info and security”

  3. Select “Manage 2-Step Verification”

  4. Click “I need more help”

  5. Choose “Chat with us” or “Request a phone call”

Thank you for your response and for sharing the recovery steps.

I would like to inform you that I have carefully followed all the steps provided. However, after logging in, the system redirects me back to the account login flow where an OTP is again sent to the same misplaced phone number. Unfortunately, I no longer have access to that number, so I am unable to complete the verification process.

Due to this, I am stuck in a loop and cannot proceed further using the suggested steps. Kindly note that I am able to enter my login credentials, but the verification always depends on the OTP sent to the old phone number.

I request you to please guide me with an alternative solution to recover my account, such as:

  • Updating or removing the old phone number through manual verification

  • Verifying my identity using email, documents, or any other method

  • Escalating this issue to the relevant team for account recovery support

I followed all the steps you shared with me; however, when I do so, I am redirected to the account login page where an OTP is required. Unfortunately, the phone number associated with my Amazon account has been misplaced, and I am unable to receive the OTP.

I would like to clarify that I did not intentionally enable Two-Factor Authentication on my account. It seems this step was missed earlier, and now due to the misplaced phone number, I am completely unable to log in.

Because of this issue, I cannot access my Amazon account at all. I kindly request your assistance in recovering my account or providing an alternative way to verify my identity and update my phone number so I can regain access.

The Two-Step Verification recovery process should not ask for a verification code. If you’re still experiencing this issue, we recommend working directly with the Customer Service team at 1-888-280-4331 or 1-800-388-5512, as they’re best positioned to assist you. Please note that the Developer Support team is unable to help with account login issues due to security reasons.
