It's OK to keep Two-Step Verification disabled?

Dear Amazon Developer Support Team,

I hope this post finds you well.

I would like to confirm whether it is acceptable to keep Two-Step Verification disabled for our Amazon Developer account because we have some troubles (SMS messages are not being received on our current phone number).

Please note the following:

  • All payments have been successfully received in the past.

  • Tax forms have been completed and approved.

  • Payment information will not be updated or changed moving forward.

Given this context, is it mandatory to enable Two-Step Verification, or can it remain disabled without affecting future payments or account access?

Thank you in advance for your support and clarification.

Best regards,

Hello,

You can disable Two-Step Verification (2SV) in your Amazon.com account settings under Login & Security > Two-Step Verification Settings. However, we recommend keeping Two-Step Verification enabled if you have multiple users on the account.
